Mallory Park - 25th July 2010

We had a great, close race  running 2nd in class for much of the time until the tyres started to go off about three laps from the end. We ended up 3rd in class but there was less than 1.2 seconds between us and 1st in class at the flag. A really exciting race which leaves us 2nd in class in the Championship still.

The project to prepare a new race car for next season at the Sussex Downs College is now underway. The picture shows Simon and some of the staff at the handover of the car. The students have already started work on it and tremendous progress has been made already.

JEC Racing 2010

We are now half way through the season having completed 6 out of the 12 races. The racing this season has been really exciting with some very close racing even though the grids have been smaller than we would have liked. Our results have varied between 2nd and 4th in class so far and our overall position at the moment is 2nd in class and 4th overall in the Chamionship.

Silverstone 4th September 2010

The XJ-S and Saloon races were combined again but rather than having a staggered start we all set off mixed together. We had a very close race with a couple of saloons untill near the end when one of them shut us out at one of the corners causing a spin. The result was that we dropped from 3rd in class to 5th but we are still 2nd in class overall for the season. The next meeting is at Cadwell Park so we hope that we can keep up the momentum at this challenging venue.

Cadwell Park 11th/12th September 2010

We had another enjoyable and sociable weekend at this challenging Lincolnshire track. The weather was damp on the Saturday morning for our qualifying session with a light shower near the end which meant that there were a few incidents, but nothing terminal. During both races we had some very close racing and ended up 3rd in class on both days; although if we had managed to find 2nd gear at the mountain  instead of 4th on Sunday that one might have been 2nd!!. So, one more meeting to go at Snetterton for points scoring and then an extra meeting at Donnington Park on the 31st October.
